Softball Background:
Ashley is one of the most highly touted professional softball
players in the nation. From 2003-2007 she played for the Canadian National
Team and Won a gold medal at the World University Games in Bangkok
Thailand in 2007.
Ashley keeps an impressive list of career highlights:
EL MODENA HIGH SCHOOL: Played 4 seasons of varsity softball for Steve Harrington; three-time All-Century League honoree, including first-team honors as a sophomore and senior; named all-county, region, and state as a senior. After rehabbing a torn ACL in the fall of her junior year, Ashley made a fast recovery just in time to help the Vanguards to the CIF championships. She was noted as one of the top high school recruits in 2002UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO: Played 1 season at shortstop for the Lobos. She batted .349 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI; she was named first-team All-Mountain West Conference and second-team All-West Region and was awarded offensive player of the year as a freshman. Led the Lobos in 10 offensive categories.
CAL STATE FULLERTON: Started in left field all but 3 games in her career at Fullerton under Head Coach Michelle Gromacki. Ranks 3rd in career (32homeruns) aft er only playing 3 seasons for the Titans. 3 time all Big West Conference member, and a 2 time All Region selection. In 2006 Ashley was named the Big West PLAYER OF THE YEAR after leading the conference in almost all hitting categories.
Personal Background :
Ashley has a younger brother, Hank, who plays hockey at Oswego University
in NY. Her father, John, was a Stanley Cup Champion
with the NHL's Montreal Canadians in 1976 and was an assistant coach with
the Los Angeles Kings from 2003-2006. He is currently the head coach for the Bern Bears in Switzerland.
Ashley is working on completing her bachelor’s degree in communications.
